Suryaa Murali - Irvington High School - University of Illinois Urbana Champaign
Suryaa traces his ancestral path to South India, and a huge part of his ancestry and his own past has been intertwined with sustainability. Suryaa exemplifies many personas as an Ace Action Fellow, design thinking practitioner, technologist, and most importantly a moral decision maker. In ACE for the 2015-16 Bay Area cohort, he has worked to do a spectrum of work in the form of coalitions, legislation, service, and climate change rallying. His work on QUEST, a project on nonrenewable energy dependence, opened his eyes to what really solves the issues we face: not any particular solution, but people making moral decisions.
